Strategic Development: Parking Garage & Hotel
Phase I Development
In 2011, Chafia acquired this defunct, 223,000 square foot warehouse that had been abandoned for over 40 years. Then, after just one year of construction, from zoning approvals to completion, SNAP Parking officially opened in 2012. SNAP Parking, which was organically created and strategically developed by Chafia, is the largest indoor off-airport parking garage serving Newark Airport via a 24×7 full-service valet and shuttle operation. The business is actively managed by Chafia and has maintained steady growth since inception. Chafia successfully transformed this unusable building into a successful business.
Phase II Development
With the already strong hotel market set to increase after a gate expansion and modernization at Newark Airport, one of the busiest international airports in the United States, Chafia strategically decided to develop a 3-story, 112 room hotel on top of the parking garage. This 72,000 square foot Comfort Inn & Suites branded hotel is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2023 and will be operated in conjunction with the Shaner Hotel Group.
